108 Sun Salutations with Mika

a special event at Tristana Ashtanga Yoga Sofia

Join us for a powerful meditation in motion – a practice in which breath and movement connect in 108 repetitions of the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar).

We are delighted to welcome Mika as a guest teacher to the studio for the first time. She will lead the practice, offering guidance, variations and inspiration so that each participant can experience the practice in their own way.

The practice of 108 Sun Salutations has deep symbolism in the yoga tradition. The number 108 is considered sacred and symbolizes wholeness, completion, and the connection between man and the universe. Repeating the sequence 108 times is not just a physical effort – it is a holistic practice for the body, mind, and spirit.

How the practice will proceed

We will do 4 sets of 27 Sun Salutations, with short breaks in between for rest and a short meditation.

You can choose the full form of the asanas or suitable variations according to your level.

What to expect:

* release of tension and activation of energy
* meditative flow through synchronization of breath and movement
* strong experience of community and shared intention

The event is suitable for practitioners of all levels. Modifications will be offered so that everyone can participate.
